Preparing to deploy to the Haiti, providing search and rescue

A devastating earthquake struck the Caribbean country on the evening of January 12th, causing thousands of deaths, and widespread building damage.
The epicenter of the 7.0 magnitude earthquake was just 10 miles from thew capital Port-au-Prince.
The UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs said initial reports suggested “a high number of casualties and widespread damage, with an urgent need for search and rescue”.
A Rescue Global Team deployed to provide:
- Experienced and qualified Team Leaders
- Private Air (heli and jet) assets to assist in movement of teams, reconnaissance and evacuations
- Liaison with and between private, charity, ngo, media, official and other organizations on the ground locally, and their news and reporting centers regionally and internationally
- Communications and liaison equipment
Rescue Global remains on the ground providing assistance in the areas of disaster recovery, ongoing medical aid in the field, and soon with security teams providing support in the lead up to rebuilding efforts.
